Hagerstown Area Religious Council

Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) is a cooperative ministry of the faith community in Washington County. Its mission is to embody mercy, justice and love as diverse faith partners.

HARC:

  • connects people of faith with each other to address pressing community issues,
  • engages in literacy and early childhood education efforts,
  • partners with elected officials and their staff to improve the community
  • advocate to the City and County to make moral decisions for the sake of families and a healthy community,
  • coordinate food resources through Micah's Backpack, food pantries and soup kitchens, and foster activities that support clergy.

Kathy Powderly serves as executive director of HARC and Ed Poling serves on the HARC board of directors representing the Interfaith Coalition of Washington County.
